Privacy Policy
How Season Energy collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
Effective date: July 12, 2026
1. Introduction
Season Energy (“Season Energy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a building performance and energy efficiency solutions company based in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit seasonenergy.ca (the “Website”), request a quote, or otherwise interact with us.
We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). By using the Website, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide directly. When you request a quote or contact us, we collect the details you enter, which may include:
- Your name (first and last)
- Contact details — email address and phone number
- Your property address — street, city, province, and postal code — so we can prepare and deliver an accurate quote
- Details about your home and equipment (for example, home type and size, your current water-heating or space-heating system, household size, and the upgrade you are considering)
- Any notes or messages you choose to include
- Whether you have consented to receive electronic marketing communications from us
Information from lead advertisements. If you submit an instant form through one of our advertisements on Facebook or Instagram (Meta), Meta shares the contact details you provided in that form with us so we can follow up on your request.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we and our analytics and advertising partners automatically collect certain technical information through cookies and similar technologies — such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at and interacted with the Website. See Cookies and tracking technologies below.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Prepare and send you the quotation you requested
- Schedule and conduct on-site assessments and follow up on your enquiry
- Provide our products and services and manage our relationship with you
- Send you marketing communications about our products, services, news, and offers — only where you have consented, and where you can unsubscribe at any time
- Measure and improve the performance of our Website and advertising, and understand how visitors use the Website
- Detect and prevent fraud, spam, and misuse of the Website
- Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations
4. Consent and electronic communications
We rely on your consent to send commercial electronic messages such as promotional emails and texts, in accordance with CASL. When you submit a quote request, marketing consent is optional and separate — you can request a quote without agreeing to receive marketing.
We will still send you transactional messages that are necessary to respond to your request — for example, your quotation confirmation and follow-up about your assessment. You can withdraw your consent to marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us at info@seasonenergy.ca.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy — including providing your quote and services, maintaining our business records, and meeting our legal, accounting, and reporting obligations. When it is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or anonymize it.
8. How we protect your information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Storage and international transfers
Some of our service providers store and process information on servers located outside of Canada, including in the United States. Where personal information is transferred outside of Canada, it may be subject to the laws of the country in which it is held, and may be accessible to that country’s courts, law enforcement, and regulatory authorities. By using the Website and our services, you consent to this transfer and processing.
10. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to request that we correct inaccurate information, and to withdraw your consent to our use of your information (which may limit our ability to provide certain services).
To exercise any of these rights, or to ask a question about how we handle your information, contact us at info@seasonenergy.ca. We will respond within a reasonable time and as required by law.
11. Children's privacy
The Website and our services are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
12. Third-party links
The Website may contain links to third-party websites and services that we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
